We can’t believe that we break up next week. It has been wonderful to see the children making the most of their final days and getting stuck into a range of activities. We also had the pleasure of welcoming many of you to our final Family Friday of the year — what a privilege to share so much of our wonderful learning with you!
In Maths, we’ve been focusing on quickly recapping our skills in the mornings, making sure our knowledge is fresh for Secondary School in September. We’ve also been tackling problem-solving challenges, using our maths knowledge to solve a variety of mysteries and problems.
In Writing, we’ve been finishing and publishing our final stories and preparing our Yearbook pages. Alongside this, the classroom has been buzzing with brilliant personal writing projects.
In Project, we’ve continued exploring Epistemology, asking and answering big questions like “Can we be truly certain of anything?” We’ve worked on backing up our ideas with clear reasoning and thoughtful discussion.
In DT, we’ve been designing and creating a bag or utility belt. On top of all this, we’ve squeezed in lots of whole-class games and quizzes to help make our final days of primary school as fun and memorable as possible.

- “Move Up Monday – Meeting Your New Teacher: Following Jump Up on Monday afternoon, children will return to their current classroom for normal dismissal. From 3:30-4:00pm, families are invited to visit their child’s new classroom for an informal meet-and-greet with next year’s teacher. This is a brief, welcoming opportunity to see the new space and say hello – we ask that detailed discussions be saved for the new term when teachers have had time to settle in.”
On Tuesday, we have our Year 6 Celebration at Queen’s College. Children do not need to come to school in uniform.
Please note that school finishes at 13:30 on Wednesday.
