This week we have continued studying our new project, WW1. In English, we have been thinking about this poignant video. We have been trying to use different sentence starters to describe the man and have been focusing on the importance of using verbs to drive description, rather than a list of flowery adjectives. Here are Polaris swapping ideas and sentences as they expanded their ideas in different ways. We look forward to sharing the outcome of our efforts with you soon.

These are this week’s spellings:

k vehicle prospect (look) public (people)
asterisk (star) stomach occupy
frequently aquatic (water) aquarium (water)
aqueduct (water, lead) wreck construction (build)

As well as this week’s maths sheets for home consolidation: Maths

Mr Drane mentioned this climate game in his assembly this morning, why not try it out at home? Can you reach net zero before 2050?

Next week:

  • Fractions
  • Flashbacks continue
  • Looking more closely at the technology involved in WW1
  • Some of the mysteries surrounding Lieutenant Shepard begin to be answered in the The Silver Donkey
