It’s been another great week in Year 6!
This week Sirius enjoyed taking part in Mini-Medics, practicing essential first-aid skills.
English
This week, we have been planning and drafting our autobiographies, focusing on one grammar function a day and thinking of fun and creative ways of remembering these.
Maths
In Maths, we began the week with solving a mathematical murder mystery – Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed getting stuck into this! We then progressed onto practicing how to solve multi-step word problems. The resources from this week’s maths can be found here: Au2W5 Problem Solving
Project
We have continued looking at Australia in project with the focus this week being on fossil fuels and the causes and effects of these on Australia and its population.
STEM
This week in STEM, we have been learning about Mary Anning, her impact on the science of fossils and how fossils are made. We also researched how species can develop and change over time.
Next week:
In English, we will be spending time editing and improving our autobiographies. In Maths, we will be continuing to apply the maths we have been learning into word problems and calculations. We will also be continuing and consolidating our learning in Project and STEM.
