We’ve had another great week in Year 6!
To begin the week, Gymfinity came in for an exciting assembly, telling us all about gymnastics – they even showed us some gymnastic skills!
In English, we have been revising our short stories and have been looking at ways in which we can improve our sentences to make them more effective for the reader. We ended the week on proof reading our stories ready for publishing.
In Maths, we have been focusing on solving problems with two unknowns, using drawings to support our understanding and also looking at crossing the millions boundary. For additional practice, you can find this week’s Maths exercises here: Maths Au1W4
In Guided Reading, we have continued to read Freedom. In History, we are continuing to explore the rise of The British Empire. Also, in Science, we have been exploring Type 1 diabetes.
Lastly, we have been enjoying singing with Mrs Wheeler altogether on a Thursday afternoon!

Next week:
In English, we will be publishing our short stories! We will then begin researching for our information texts on The British Empire.
In Maths, we will be focusing on rounding and exploring mental vs written methods.
In History, we will be looking at the global expansion of the British Empire and in Science we will be exploring how the circulatory system works.

A few messages:
- Please remember to send any up-to-date medication in with your child (inhalers, epi-pens etc).
- Please send a photo in for the Family Boards.
- Please can all children make sure they have a PE kit in school.
