This week we learned all about Australia, which will be our focus case study for the rest of the half term for our Project. As part of this, we learned about the differences between Oceania, Australasia and Australia and were intrigued that Australia was classed as both a continent and a country!
In English, we have been drafting our biographies about Rosalind Franklin and are really impressed by the quality of the children’s learning and the depth of their understanding.
Spellings for the week: (words with the suffix -ee)
Can you think of other words that end with the suffix -ee?
Our Writing Journal focus has been on the use of apostrophes for possession, as well as for contraction. Can you use this picture as inspiration for a writing piece, where you can show off your use of apostrophes?
In Maths, we have been continuing our learning on long multiplication, as well as considering efficient methods for multiplication: Au2 W4 Long Multiplication sheets
- Maths – starting long division…deep breaths!
- English – publishing our biographies and beginning a new unit of learning all about gene editing!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
