It’s been another great week in Year 6! The children have been having a great time swimming and we have also thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the children’s learning with you at Family Friday this week.
English
In English we have begun writing our literary essays on The Final Year! We have been choosing our essay questions, gathering evidence and planning our structure, all in preparation for writing next week.
Maths
We have been focusing on using scale factors, functions and have started looking at algebra. For further practice, find this week’s maths sheets here: Sp1W5
STEM
Our focus in STEM has continued to be on classification, this week learning about classifying unusual living things and writing scientific descriptions.
Looking ahead to next week
English – We will be writing and publishing our literary essays.
Maths – Our focus will continue to be developing our understanding of algebra.

Monday 10th: Antares and Polaris
Tuesday 11th: Sirius and Antares
Thursday 13th: Polaris and Sirius
Those classes who swim first – Monday, Antares; Tuesday, Sirius; Thursday, Polaris – will have an earlier lunch at 12pm.
