We’ve had a short but wonderful week in Year 6, jumping straight back into fun and learning. It’s a jam-packed term, with all classes taking part in the Computing Project and Art with Ms Smith.
Maths
We have finished our work on data handling and statistics. This week, we focused on reading and drawing pie charts, as well as exploring scale factors. You can find the learning resources for this week: Su1W1 – stats, sf, volume
English
We’ve been editing our non-fiction texts from last term, with a focus on developing our independent editing skills. We’re looking forward to publishing our final versions next week.
STEM
We’ve started a new topic on light. After recapping our previous learning, we designed our own experiments based on shadows. We focused on developing our scientific and enquiry skills.
Computing
Our Computing Project is now underway—we’re creating our own inventions using Spike Lego Coding. This week, we explored the resources and experimented with different coding elements.

In Maths, we’ll begin revisiting some key topics from earlier in the year.
