English
In English, the children have been gathering ideas and planning their scary short stories. They used planning rivers and comic strips to structure their writing and carefully thought about their “Diamond Moment” – the most exciting part of their story.
Maths
In Maths, children have been learning how to compare fractions with the same denominators and same numerators, as well as comparing numbers greater than 1, including mixed numbers and improper fractions. This week’s worksheets show the progress they have made.maths Spring 1 – Week 2 sheets
History
In History, we used atlases to locate Mesoamerica and identify the modern-day countries that form this region. We also began our learning about the Mayan civilisation, discussing who they were and where they lived.
RE
This week in RE, children explored the idea of commitment, linking it to Sikhism and discussing what commitment means in everyday life.
PSHE
In PSHE, we focused on friendship. Children discussed what makes a good friend and explored strategies for resolving friendship problems in a positive way.
PE – Swimming
We have started our swimming lessons, and the children were extremely excited. They behaved exceptionally well, showing respect to the swimming instructors, members of the public, and the bus driver. We are very proud of their attitudes and behaviour.
