Thank you all for your help and support with the Greek play. We have been so proud of Year 4 for their perseverance in learning lines and confidence in delivering them. It was great to see so many people come to watch too.
We had an treat this week too, as part of our Black History celebrations, to watch a performance about the Empire Windrush and the journey to the UK in 1948. It was also a chance to learn about some individuals in this generation and the contributions they have made to politics, art and culture in the UK.
As well as completing our end of term assessments, we have concluded our Maths learning on rounding. The sheets can be downloaded here and we do recommend that you review this with your child over the half term break.
In Art, we have made some puppets inspired by Greek mythology. The children will be bringing these home on Friday for you to enjoy. We were impressed by the high quality outcomes. We are very lucky to be continuing art with Mrs Smith next term too.
Many of you have been working hard on your writing at home. If you would like to complete your own creative writing over the half term break, you may like to use this picture for inspiration. We would love to see your stories!
Next half term:
Our PE days will continue to be the same as this term. Please ensure that your child has warm clothes for outdoor PE as the weather is getting colder.
The first week back to school will be Arts Week inspired by The Firebird by Igor Stravinsky. We are really looking forward to this enriched opportunity to explore the creative arts.
We wish you all a very happy half term and look forward to seeing you again next term.
The Year 4 Team.
