This week in Year 4, we have had another busy and exciting time in our learning.
In English, we continued working on our class poem. The children explored similes and metaphors, thinking carefully about how these language features can make writing more vivid and imaginative. We also spent time revising and editing our poems, improving word choices and checking for sense and impact. It has been wonderful to see the children developing confidence in refining their own work.
In STEM, we carried on our topic on sound and began learning about adaptations. We focused on how some animals have adapted to hear better in their environments. To investigate this, the children carried out a fun experiment making “trumpet ears” using paper, testing whether this helped them hear sounds more clearly.
In Maths, we have been learning about multiplying and dividing by 1 and by the number itself, as well as practising how to multiply three numbers together. The children have shown great effort in applying their knowledge.

A reminder that snacks should be healthy (fruit, vegetables, cheese, breadsticks, etc.) and must not contain nuts.
