This week we have started our new project which is a geography led project on Refugees. We have started by learning the difference between a refugee and migrants, and some of the reasons why people may migrate to a new country. The children have really enjoyed the new book we have started called ‘Boy at the Back of the Class’ by Onjali Q. Rauf. This gives a child’s perspective of meeting a ‘refugee kid’ and the journey of his adjustment to his new class and friendships. We also began some art work exploring the journey taken by a refugee through different terrains and weathers.
In Maths we have started learning about multiplying by 10 and 100 and the impact this has on the place value of the digits. Next week we will move on to division by 10 and 100. Children can recap their learning by revising this week’s sheets here. Maths Multiplying by 10 and 100 Week 2
We had a lot of fun in Science investigating the viscosity of different liquids. We got to play with some oobleck, which is non-Neutonian fluid, sometimes behaving like a liquid and sometimes like a solid.
