What a wonderful week we have had in Year 4! We have been blown away with the children’s passion and dedication to their learning.
In English, we have been focusing on fronted adverbials and conjunctions. We have been using the Odyssey as inspiration, imaging that we were Odysseus writing a diary entry after his tricky decision. If you would like some extra writing practice please use this prompt: Writing Prompt- Autumn 1, Week 5.
In Maths, we used our place value knowledge to explore ordering 4 digit numbers. Please find the maths learning for this week here: Maths Autumn 1, Week 4.
In History, we looked at democracy, exploring its links with Ancient Greece and how this is reflected today.
In Science, we continued learning about the digestive system. We focused on vitamins and minerals and explored how these are used in the body.
In English, we are going to be story mapping part of the Odyssey and begin planning our own chapter.
In Maths, we are going to continue looking at place value and ordering numbers. We will be using number lines to represent this.
In STEM, we are looking at balanced diets and how our digestive system facilitates this.
The Guided Reading chapters for next week can be found here, we re reading chapter 12-15 : Chapters 12 – 15.
