We have had the most wonderful week in Year 4!
In English we have continued our work looking at Non-Fiction texts. We are going to be writing our own Non-fiction stories inspired by ‘The Pebble in my Pocket’. We are writing our stories on Biomes and spent the week becoming biome experts and exploring the different writing techniques that we will use. The children have mapped out their journey through the biomes and will be writing their stories next week- We cannot wait to read them.
In Maths, we have been looking at efficient methods for subtraction. We have been applying these to word problems and have been focusing on representing equations using a bar model. The learning from this week can be found here: Maths Worksheets
In STEM, we have been looking at animal adaptations and how these are connected to their environments.
In Geography, we have continued our learning exploring the biomes of the world. We have been focusing on the Rainforest biome and have been looking at its features and threats. Next week we will be comparing rainforest and temperate forest biomes.
In guided reading we will be reading Chapter 7-9 in Twitch.
Have a lovely weekend,
Year 4 team
