We have had a lovely first week back after the Easter Break. The children all seem well rested and ready to enjoy the Summer Term.
In Guided Reading, we have started to read a new book – Varjak Paw. This novel follows the story of a brave kitten who finds his place in the world, fighting off the forces of evil to protect his family.
In English, we have begun to explore our new unit of writing a memoir. The children have become reader as writer to grow in expertise on this genre. The project will result in the children publishing their memoirs in a time capsule for them to open on the final weeks of Year 6 to reflect on their key memories of primary school. We are beginning to plan our memoirs next week, selecting three special memories to include.
In Maths, we have recapped multiplication and division, focusing on 2s, 3s, and 5s. This has given the children an opportunity to practice and revise these skill.Math 3 Session 2 Maths 1
Next week, we begin out fractions topic where children will begin to explore splitting a whole into parts.
In STEM, we started our Electricity project. The children enjoyed exploring different electrical equipment to create circuits. Next week we will dive in to electrical safety.
