What a wonderful week we have had in Year 3! The children in Oak class had a fantastic visit to Wandlebury Country Park- we loved seeing our learning about life in the Iron Age being brought to life. A particular highlight was cooking Iron Age style bread over a fire- it was delicious!
In English, the children have been revising and editing their fables. They have kept in mind their audience of Year 1 children and made conscious decisions about vocabulary. There have been some superb discussions around whether powerful vocabulary would add to the storytelling or confuse their audience. These fables are looking great and the children are very excited to publish them next week.
In Maths, we have been practising our arithmetic skills. We spoke about how we can make easy mistakes through rushing and how to avoid them by slowing down! We worked on reading the questions, waiting 15 seconds and then answering. You can practise this here: Sheet for blog
In D&T, we have been creating our final projects using all our learning on creating machanisms- the children are impressing us with their creativity and resilience!
In STEM, we have continued our unit on Electricity.
