Whispers of spooky settings and stories in Year 3!
In English, we started our “Spooky Stories” project, exploring the genre and the various “craft moves” that authors employ to create a spooky atmosphere. The children also started creating their spooky setting, which were all incredible, from abandoned classroom to haunted zoos! Next week, we will start writing our spooky introduction!
In Maths, we started exploring number lines and looked at how to estimate the position of numbers based on the intervals, also using our knowledge from place value. Next week, we will have a more in depth look at number line intervals.
In STEM, we looked at the various types of soil and their properties, experimenting with them to see which ones would be drainers and which would be retainers. Next week, we will continue exploring the properties of soil to help with a school development idea!
In Project, we explored the Ancient Egyptian hierarchy of command, from Pharaoh to workers. Next week, we will have a look at mummification.
