What an amazing first week back in Year 3! We can’t believe we are already at the tail end of the Summer Term!
In English, we finished editing out memoirs and published them, creating colourful enveloped that will be opened in Year 6! What an great journey it was, especially reading all the amazing memories the children wrote about, which clearly have positively impacted them.
In Maths, we have continued exploring fractions and learned how to add unit fractions. The children were amazing at this and really showed their knowledge of all that we have learned throughout the year. Maths
In STEM, we added switches to our circuit expertise, experimenting how to use them and exploring how the circuits might change with the addition of extra switches and components. The children really showed an incredible scientific attitude here, instantly generating hypotheses about how to add extra switches and what would happen to the general circuit.
In D&T, we started our new unit on Pop Up Books, exploring some mechanisms that make them possible, then designing some of our own.
Important Messages:
- We are putting out a message to all parents who would like to volunteer to participate in our Year 3 Wandlebury Trip on the following dates: 1st July 2027 and 9th July 2027. Please let the office know if you would like to be part of this, also keeping in mind that, should you be contacted to participate, you will not be part of your child’s group.
- As a requirement of our new lunchtimes, please send some wellington boots for your child to wear to be able to access the muddy areas (mud kitchen) and grass
