In English: Carrying on from last week’s focus on portal stories, we used an explicit story structure as a success criteria to assess how successful an example story was. After this we made our final plan before writing it up and publishing it in our best writing.

In Maths: We have begun to explore length in metres, centimetres and millimetres. We did this by measuring different classroom objects, before trying to work out how to measure around a glue stick (how on earth could we do that with our rulers? They would snap!) This served as our segue into perimeter, testing out how to make different shapes with string and then measuring them.

In STEM: We tested our knowledge on magnets with a quiz, learned about the Earth’s magnetic field and completed our end of unit assesment.

NEXT WEEK:

Next week is Shakespeare week and our focus text will be A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
