In English: We have begun to think about how to write a portal story and started by coming up with key portal objects – these included things such as magical books, flying pirate ships, portal guns and even a TARDIS. Afterwards we described where it would take us. Some of the ideas were places that were magical and mystical like a wizard world others were in different galaxies like planet burger and some would take you on a nice holiday to Italy.

In Maths: We made progress in learning the 3, 6 and 9 times tables. We particularly focused on the relationship between them thinking about doubles and triples. We also learned a trick to help us recite the 9 times table using our hands.

In STEM: We learned about the way magnets behave when trying to force two of the same ends together and considered how the Earth also acts like a giant magnet.

NEXT WEEK:

English: We will be completing a final plan before writing a structured portal story.

Maths: Length and perimeter

STEM: Consolidating our learning on forces
