What a wonderful week we have had in Year 3! The children have worked incredibly hard this week and they should be very proud of all the learning they have done!
In English, the children have been putting their scholar hats on to answer thought provoking questions based on Varjak Paw. They have been identifying quotes to use for evidence and considering what these quotes actually mean- very high powered learning!
In Maths, we finished our fractions unit. They conducted an experiment to explore filling water bottles using unit fractions. The children were able to confidently identify the numerator and the denominator in different contexts. Super work Year 3! Here are some practice sheets to explore at home:
In STEM, we have continued our unit on Electricity.
In Project, we continued to explore block coding with Sphero Bolt. We learnt how to add lights, patterns and sounds to our coding. The children have really impressed us with the way the children have embraced the language of block coding.

Next half term
Our spotlight focus will be D and T (creating a moving poster) and PRE (Hinduism)
English: we will write our Varjak Paw essays before moving on to writing our own fables.
Maths: we will be focusing on geometry. We will be beginning with lines and angles.
Science: we will be continuing our unit on Electricity.
