This week we began by exploring the different features of newspaper reports. We read lots of reports based on familiar stories and picked out the key features. We then stepped into the role of journalists: we decided on the ‘news worthy’ parts of different traditional tales before coming up with our own headlines. The children showed real perseverance during their headline writing task, remembering to be big, bold and exciting!
In Maths we explored adding and subtracting 1s and 10s using different representations. Here are some practice worksheets: Practice sheets
In Science we looked closely at the edible parts of different plants. We drew careful drawings of different botanical fruits and culinary vegetables.
During Geography we learnt lots of new terminology about rivers. We used our new knowledge to labels a diagram of a river from source to mouth.
