What a fantastic week! The children have had brilliant first weeks in Year 3 and have settled into their new classes really well. They are already working hard and impressing their teachers!

In English we have reading ‘Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx,’ The children are thoroughly enjoying this story and are excited to find out what happens next in the adventure. We have been generating powerful vocabulary to describe a wondrous cave from the story- the phrases generated by the children wowed us!!

During our Maths lessons we have been concentrating on representing numbers up to 100. The children were able to talk about what the digits represent and used dienes to make different 2-digit numbers. Here is a sheet from this week to work on at home: Maths

NEXT WEEK

Focus text: Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx

English: We will be writing statements and sequencing our writing using time connectives

Maths: Representing numbers up to 1000, partitioning numbers to 1000

STEM: We will be learning about rocks and fossils this half term
