What a retrospective week in Year and in school in general. We had an incredible VE day celebration and the children really enjoyed learning about this important moment in history, asking many questions and sharing their family stories.
In English, we edited and started publishing our memoirs. The children really stepped into the role of editors and addend some amazing content to their memoirs, developing descriptions and adding ambitious vocabulary.
In Maths, we continued our work on fractions, starting to explore the role of numerator and denominator, which the children picked up instantly. Y3 Sum1 W3 Maths
In STEM, we continued exploring electricity, starting our work with circuits. We used physical resources and a website (https://phet.colorado.edu/sims/html/circuit-construction-kit-dc-virtual-lab/latest/circuit-construction-kit-dc-virtual-lab_en.html) to build circuits and test them. We looked at the various symbols for battery, light bulb, motor, etc.
In Guided Reading, we continued reading about Varjak Paw’s adventures in the outside world as he experienced a car for the first time.
