This week
In Phonics, we focused on the /e/ sound spelt <e> /e/ ai/ /ea/ used in words such as: red, said, against and head.
In English, we focused on using adjectives and verbs in a variety of writing opportunities that are displayed on the writing showcase in each class.
In Maths, we learnt about a variety of 2D shapes and their properties.
In Science, we have been looking at what makes a good pet?
During Art with Mrs Smith, we thoroughly enjoyed working with clay to create Polar Bears (in different positions) and learnt the key skills/techniques needed to manipulate and attach various body parts using tools and water.

In Phonics, we will be learning the <ow> sound spelt /ow/ or /ou/ for example: out, down, now, about, how, round, shout, around, our
In English, we will continue to focus on using adjectives and verbs. The focus text will be ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea.’ Children will enjoy acting -out another story map (similar to ‘Traction Man) and create their own versions to share.

Other Information
Please ensure your child has warm track suit bottoms and top for outdoor P.E as the weather is very cold now.
Please feel free to send in a healthy snack for children for morning break such as fruit or vegetables in a plastic container for safety.
On Tuesday Children will have their Christmas lunch. Wearing a festive or colorful jumper for the day is optional.
