Dear parents and carers,
We have had another wonderful week with lots of learning outside where we could enjoy the sun!
In English, our focus book has been How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth. Using the book as inspiration we have been practicing how to write instructions. This began with the children telling each other how to make jam sandwiches which was enjoyed by all! Following this, the children each picked an animal and wrote instructions on how to wash their creature. If your child wanted to practice this, they could write a set of instructions teaching others how to play a game they enjoy.
In Maths, we have continued to look at numbers from 50-100. We began by looking at one more and one less before moving onto comparing numbers using greater than, less than or equal to. Here is this week’s maths sheet if you would like to consolidate this at home. Independent comparing numbers
In Phonics, we have been learning the different spellings for the /s/ sound.
We have identified the -s- spellings:
s – sink, strike, stick
ss – mess, gossip, press
st – thistle, listen, chestnut
c – cell, cellar, city
ce – bounce, fence, force
se – goose, horse, house
sc – science, scissors, scene.
Other messages:
Please remember to ensure your child has their PE kit, sun cream and a hat in school.
Please ensure that your child does not bring any toys or money into school.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
