Another week full of memorable moments has flown by!
We were delighted to come together as a whole school to celebrate the 100th birthday of Sir. David Attenborough. The children took part in a special whole-school picnic lunch, enjoying time outdoors while reflecting on his remarkable contributions to our understanding of the natural world.
In Writing, the children have begun creating their own memoirs. They are thinking about special moments from their lives and learning how to write about them in a clear and engaging way. In Phonics, we have been focusing on the /ue/ sound, alongside revisiting previously taught sounds to ensure these are secure. We have also completed our Phonics Screening Check practice in the classroom. If you would like to support your child further at home, the 2025 Phonics Screening Check materials are available for you to use for additional practice. In Maths, children are beginning to explore the concept of multiplication. Phonics books: please make sure these are returned on 15.05.26. The phonics books relate to the spellings we have been learning in class so please use them for any spelling practice alongside the reading. Please make sure you return books on the day. You will incur a £5 fine if this isn’t returned. Your child will be given their new phonics book once the old one is returned.
