What a fun week we’ve had. The children particularly loved getting stuck into sports day. They impressed us immensely with their enthusiasm and support for their peers. Thank you to Mr Jackson for allowing the day to run so smoothly.
Well done to all the parents who took part in the parents race – what a great turn out for Year 1! Congratulations for Jason’s dad and Lyla’s mum for winning their races.
In Phonics, we have been looking at the different ways to spell the ‘or’ sound: torn, fawn, talk, author, roar and more.
In Writing, we have been working on the editing process as well as writing independently in our personal writing projects.
In Maths, we have been looking at reasoning problems so the children can think more deeply about Maths. There are lots of excellent books you can purchase to practise reasoning skills including Maths No Problem. We are moving on to thinking about money.
Thank you for the kind donations of exotic fruit for Science. The children were delighted to try some new flavours and some even have some new favourite fruits!
