Dear Parents and Carers,
We can’t really believe we’ve only got one week left to go!
The children are showing lots of maturity and readiness for Year 2 already. We’ve been reflecting on Year 1 with the children and it’s been fantastic to hear how proud the children all are of their learning and what they’ve accomplished this year. They should all feel very proud.
In Phonics, we have been practising the ‘air’ sound in words like: hair, pair, bear, care and their.
In Writing, we have been working together to proof-read our instruction booklets. The children are very excited to show off their skills.
In Maths, we have been looking at money and time. If you’ve got coins lying around at home, do show them to your children and discuss what you might be able to buy with each coin.
In DT, the children have loved building bridges using marshmallows and spaghetti!
In Science, we have been using our senses to try and guess lots of different smells.
