Year 1 have been busy in their learning this week!
We have been finding out all about Victorian children and the sorts of jobs they did. The children compared how they live today to how a chimney sweep would have lived!
In English, we have continued to enjoy the adventures of Traction Man and Scrubbing Brush. The children have been writing their own captions using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. Take a look at the learning and have a go at home.
Maths
In Maths this week, we have been counting on and learning one more from any number between 0-10. Click here to practice with your child at home.
Science
Our science lessons have been focused on the 4 seasons. This week we looked at what the weather is like in each season.
Next week
Now that we are more comfortable in the classroom, please support children to build their independence by letting them come into the classroom by themselves in the morning. Many thanks for your support!
In English next week, we will be reading Traction Man and Turbo Dog with a focus of writing sentences using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.
In Maths next week, we will be learning to count backwards and one less than any number between 0-10.
Reading books
Books will now be changed next Friday (27th) and then fortnightly from then on. Remember these books are for children to improve their fluency so please make sure they read them daily, along with any other books you read for pleasure together.
