Please check this blog to see what our children have been learning every week in school, as well as to find out what they will be learning in the coming week.
This week, we have been reading the book, ‘We Are Family’ and learning about Black History Month, we have read the following books to help us acknowledge and appreciate Black People and their history:
In Phonics, we have been focusing on the sounds /n/ /o/ /p/ and revisiting the sounds /s/ /a/ /t/ /i/ /m/.
If you would like to continue practising at home you can read and write the words: nap, pan, pop, pot and on.
In Art, we have been focusing building and painting cartons and boxes. To help keep our craft area well stocked, we are looking for boxes, cardboard, plastic to fill our junk modelling stations, any donations would be greatly appreciated.
In Maths, we have been subitising by listening and looking at different patterns and saying the number we hear or see.
Next week, we are so excited to run our wonderful Family Festival on Friday, if you would like to volunteer then please see the post on tapestry!
Each Friday, decodable reading books will be given to children to read at home. These books need to be returned on Thursday mornings so that we can redistribute them on Friday. Children will practise one unit of sounds for two weeks, they will receive a different decodable book each week to support them with embedding their phonics sounds.
