It’s been a wonderful week of learning in Reception this week.
Phonics – Our phonics this week we recapped Unit 11, focusing on sounds such as /wh/.
To continue this learning at home, you could support your child to read and write the words: ‘wham’, ‘when’ and ‘whisk’.
Maths – In Maths, we worked on counting to 20.
Project – We explored different versions of the traditional tale, ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, such as ‘Little Red’, ‘The Last Wolf’ books and the CBeebies ballet version of the tale.
Art Skill of the Week – We have been focusing on connecting items together using craft resources such as pipe cleaners and tape.
International Mud Week – We’ve had a very exciting week this week, doing some fun activities in the mud, including mud painting, exploring a mud pool and cooking in the mud kitchen.
On Fridays, we will continue with our Outdoor Learning activities. As the children will be doing these activities in the forest area, please can you ensure that on a Friday, children are all wearing full-length trousers/leggings to avoid being stung by any nettles or brambles.
