This week, we have gone back in time to learn about the artists Frida Kahlo and Pablo Picasso. During playful learning, we have channeled being artists at the craft table, creating our own floral crowns just like Frida and selling our pieces of art in our role-play museums and galleries!
We have been in the swing of mastering our handwriting using the Kinetic Letters Handwriting scheme. We have been practicing our jumper family letters: /h/ /m/ /n/

As part of our past project we have been reading Little People Big Dreams books, this week, we had a go at creating our own! We have been talking about our own pasts, what we did as babies and then drawing pictures and writing a sentence about this!
In Maths, we have been learning about one more, one fewer and equal to concepts. This week, we have been ordering our numberblocks and discovered that when they are in order, they make a staircase pattern. We have explored which numbers hide within others and developed our knowledge of ‘bigger’ and ‘smaller’.
Can your little one tell you which numbers are bigger than 5 and which numbers are smaller?
Next week, we will be introducing new jumper family letters /r/ /b/ /p/. In Phonics, we will be learning how to read and write CVCC words (4 Letters). In Maths, we will begin learning about the composition of 7!
