What a wonderful and busy few weeks that we have had! Well done Reception for all of your hard work…
As part of our places project, we have been focusing on the book ‘The Street Beneath Our Feet’ by Charlotte Guillian and learning the Christmas Story for our nativity production!
We created a poster to show what lives underground, we added rabbits, badgers, fossils and even learnt about the Earth’s core!
In phonics this week we started to work on Unit 5 (k, l, r, u). Please see the video below to help with these sounds:
If you would like to continue this learning at home try reading, building and writing the words- kid, cup, gum, tug.
Or the whole sentence- The red bugs are on the log.
When sentence writing, don’t forget to start your sentence with a capital letter, include finger spaces between each word and add a full stop at the end.
In Drawing Club, we read ‘The Hairy Toe” by Daniel Postgate and had a go at creating our own field of beans with unique and wonderful discoveries!
In Maths, we have been looking at subitising different patterns of dots up to the number 5 and learning to count with our stopping number – this is the number that we need to remember to stop on! This week, we have been using different sized dice to play and make our own number track games, maybe you could have a go at making your own dice game at home?
We have started to learn some of the songs for our Nativity. As we have for the past few years, our Nativity performance will be pre-recorded and sent out to families on the last week of term for you to enjoy watching together..
