Please check this blog to see what our children have been learning every week in school, as well as to find out what they will be learning in the coming week.
This week, we have been reading the book, ‘Super Duper You’. We have been discussing all the wonderful things that make us special and sharing them with our friends.
In Phonics, we have been focusing on the sounds ‘a’, ‘i’, ‘m’, ‘s’ and ‘t’. To help your child at home, you could do some further practice of writing the words ‘sat’, ‘sit’, ‘am’ and ‘mat’.
In Art, we have been focusing scissor skills, scissor safety and left/right handed scissors.
In Maths, we have been learning about the composition of 2 and 3.
Next week, we will be exploring the text ‘We Are Family’ and learning about Black History Month. Please see the post on tapestry if you would like to volunteer to read as part of our Black History Month activities.
Each Friday, decodable reading books will be given to children to read at home. These books need to be returned on Thursday mornings so that we can redistribute them on Friday. Children will practise one unit of sounds for two weeks, they will receive a different decodable book each week to support them with embedding their phonics sounds.
