This week at nursery, we have been exploring the story of The Three Little Pigs. The children enjoyed listening to the story, singing pig-themed songs, and acting out the characters using props and role play.
We explored different building materials including straw, sticks and bricks, discussing which houses were strongest and why. The children also had opportunities to build their own houses and dens in the forest using sticks and pipecleaners, developing their creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
In our maths and phonics activities, we practised counting through songs and games, while listening carefully to different sounds and exploring how our voices can make a variety of noises. We also talked about healthy eating and made healthy choices through discussions and games.
Outdoors, the children enjoyed learning about animal homes, den building and physical challenges, despite the rainy weather! Obstacle courses, traffic light games and rolling tyres in our playground, encouraged movement, coordination and cooperation. It has been a fun-filled week of storytelling, singing, learning and imaginative play!
