Aren’t the colours of the autumn magical this year? This week we have spent a lot of time outside admiring the trees, how they change their colour from deep green to fiery red and orange and yellow! The autumn treasures, such as conkers, pinecones and sticks are used in many of our activities this week. We are weighing them, watching them float or sink and use them to make potions in the mud kitchen.
We also have a spider display, as children have been fascinated by the spiderwebs we found in the forest. Children could make their own spiderwebs by threading and weaving through paper plates.
On Wednesday we read an exciting story of Lima’s red hot chili by David Mills and Derek Brazell. Lima was very hungry after school and could not find anything to eat except a shiny, red, hot chili. She put it in her mouth to try it and … CRUNCH…. fireworks flew out of her face. We were lucky enough to be able to listen to the story in Spanish and English as well, thank you for our parent volunteer.
As the weather is getting colder and wetter, please make sure your child has wellie boots and waterproofs in nursery. We use these during outdoor learning in the forest and playing in the sandpit.

For the next half term, we are looking at homes and buildings and looking for DONATIONS of BIG CARDBOARD BOXES so we can use them in our construction area.
Remember, it is half term next week, wishing you all a relaxing holiday and see you on 4th November.
