On Monday we talked about Earth Day and read a funny story about an Elephant in my kitchen. Can you share some pictures with us to show how you look after your environment?

We also drew the Earth on the bottom of a tray and did some upside-down drawing of islands and water.

Our story of the week was Mr Gumpy’s Motorcar. Children acted out going on a trip with Mr Gumpy but when the rain came down, the car got stuck in the mud. So they all had to push and shove to help the car move on.

During our keytime session we talked about safe and unsafe things around our home. Children discussed how they keep safe by holding an adult hand when crossing the road, not having a bath on their own, making sure they don’t touch sharp and hot things around their house.

Next week we are learning about trains and our story will be and the train goes….

Do you like travelling on trains? Where do you go with your family? What can you see out of the window? Send us a photo of one of your train journeys or upload them to Tapestry!

Please remember to label your children’s clothes items, so they do not get lost. Make sure, they have waterproof trousers, coats and wellie boots in nursery as we will be visiting our grassed area every week, even on a rainy day!

We are welcoming donations of clean milk bottle lids, yoghurt pots, recycled boxes and cartons for our junk modelling. Please do not bring toilet paper rolls, medicine boxes or anything that had nuts inside. Thank you very much!
