This week we welcomed back all the Meadows and talked about our restful and playful break!
Moving on to the second half term of Autumn the children have been looking into different kinds of buildings and houses and exploring a wonderful collection of small boxes and keys! They have also been using cardboard boxes of different sizes to build unique towers or to hide themselves in them, especially after having read the amazing book Not a box by Antoinette Portis, where a rabbit imagines a box of different things!
At the crafts table, the little hands got busy making sparkly fireworks, while colorfoul shapes and lights around the classroom reminded us of the bright festival of Diwali! We are so grateful for our multicultural nursery!
Outside, we continued to explore and interact with the natural world with all our senses: smelling flowers, feeling the texture of the tree trunks, admiring some spider webs with water droplets and listening to the birds. We also collected natural materials to build a bug hotel which we placed outside! We will keep monitoring it the next few weeks to check if it attracts any mini visitors!
This term we have also started exploring our feelings and practicing how we might look when we experience different emotions. We have also started discussing the importance of friendships and exploring new ways of connecting and playing with our friends. Dear parents and families, please encourage and extend these conversations also at home!
