This week we have looked at the story ‘Naughty Bus’… Children enjoyed seeing the bus running through a plate of baked beans then falling into a pond (a bowl of water). Have you travelled on a bus recently? What could you see through the windows?

In our provision, children could enjoy a baked bean messy play, with a little tea set, and of course a naughty bus.
They have been making their own buses at the craft area and counting how many passengers they have onboard.
There have been lots of reading and looking at maps with our buses. In our small group times we have started to talk about road safety and what dangers we might see when out and about. We have been playing a lot of STOP and GO games, using music and signs.
In Phonics this week we have been moving to the beat of different instruments and thinking about how we can move in different ways to match the sound they make. We have marched slow and steady to a drum beat, galloped to the sound of claves and jumped to the jingles of a tambourine! Which other instruments and movements can you make at home?
