This week we have finished our transport project with reading ‘Bunnies in a Boat’ by Philip Ardagh and Ben Mantle. It’s a story about some cheeky bunnies that go a bit wild when riding in a speedboat! It’s a great story to explore rhythm and rhyme, and the children have loved guessing the rhymes at the end of each sentence. In our classroom, we have enjoyed exploring the story further through building boats that float and counting bunnies into them!

We started exploring our Bee-bots for computing. Bee bots are small programmable robots. Children can enter a small sequence of instructions, and the robot will move to the programmed direction. They are great fun to play with.
This week, a big change has happened to our caterpillars. They all turned into chrysalis or a pupa. Mrs Rodoula will take them home to look after them during the half term. She is planning to take pictures and videos and post them on Tapestry for the children during the half term!
During the next half term, we will be learning about traditional tails and healthy eating. We will start discussing going to school with the children, reading stories about starting Reception Class, looking at uniforms, visit the big lunch hall.
You can help at home by encouraging your child to be more independent. Encourage them to independently put on/take off their coat and shoes, use the toilet and wash their hands, get dressed with little help, use a fork/spoon and drink from an open cup.
