What an amazing second week we had in Meadows! All of our wonderful children have now completed their settling- in sessions and will be starting their normal hours from next week!
This week we have been talking about ourselves as we try to get to know each other better. We created self-portraits and ‘My family’ puppets from paper and lolly sticks and we made little human figures using playdough and matches.
Outside, we ‘cooked’ Autumn soups using all the lovely gifts this season brings e.g. conkers, leaves, sticks, feathers and coloured water!
The core stories of the week were: Dear Zoo, which helped us understand which animals we might have as pets, and Mixed, a lovely tale celebrating being unique, as the Colours overcome their differences in the story.
Snack times: We would like to remind our lovely families that packed snacks/lunches are not allowed at our school, as we have children with severe allergies. During our mealtimes, we discuss about healthy eating and we encourage children to have plenty of fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. If you wish, you could donate some fresh fruit and vegetables for all children. Thank you.
We are looking for some RECYCLED DONATIONS for our craft area:
-recycled boxes, tubs and tubes (NO boxes that contained nuts or medication)
– milk lids, buttons, corks
We acknowledge that each child is unique and may therefore require a different approach to settle into their new routine. Please speak to your child’s keyperson about any questions you might have or things you might need to share with us. We are here to support each and every child to become a confident and happy learner as soon as possible!
Have a lovely weekend and see you next week, Nursery Team
