It’s been a great week at Meadows Nursery as we have been thinking a lot about dinosaurs this week! We have been sharing books and stories around the theme of dinosaurs and discussing what we know about them. We had a go at making some dinosaur skeletons in our arts and craft areas, we have been creating dinosaur worlds and making maps of them, and we made our very own fossil creations using playdough. We were also especially excited to discover some dinosaur eggs in our outdoor area and we have been helping them to hatch! What an exciting time.
We also enjoyed reading the book ‘Hats of Faith‘ by Madeia Cohan and exploring this theme this week. In particular we have loved trying on lots of different types of hats and thinking about them. What hats do you like to wear? In our maths area we have been counting lots of different types of objects, being careful to count accurately using one-to-one correspondence. We have continued to explore our space in the nursery inside and outside, enjoying the sand and water areas and we have been getting used to our nursery routines and our new friends.
Thank you for helping your children to settle into Nursery life. Just a reminder that we don’t encourage children to bring in items from home, and if anyone takes something from Nursery home by accident, just return it to a staff member the next day. Thank you for supporting us with this.
