Year 1 Weekly Update
In maths, we have been using our knowledge of number bonds to 10 to help us find number bonds to 20. The children have been exploring how numbers can be combined in different ways to make 20 and using what they already know about bonds to 10 to support this. We have also been reviewing doubles and building fluency in recalling doubles up to 20.
In writing, we have been working on strategies to help us correct our spellings using the year 1 common exception words. The children have been learning how to check their writing carefully and think about ways to fix “unsure spellings”. Next week, the children will begin publishing their Information and Me booklets.
