Welcome to our round up of the first week back here in Year 1.
We hope you all had wonderful break!
In English this week, we have been exploring different types of texts and books. We then learnt about information texts which helped to introduce our new writing project- ‘All about me’.
Next week, we will begin to write our own information text using sentences with a subject, verb and an object.
In Maths, we have been consolidating our learning about ‘finding and making numbers to 20’ and doubles and near doubles.’ Please click here Blog wk1to work together at home.
In STEM we have started a new topic- plants. We examined various fruit and vegetables making observational drawings and comparisons.
Phonics- Next week we will learn the different spellings for the /u/sound- /u/ as in
u – fun, jump, sun
ou – double, touch
o – son, ton

Other notices:
Please ensure all uniform especially jumpers are clearly labelled to help with your child being able to find theirs easily. This saves a lot of time at the end of the day.
