Hi Parents and Carers,
It has been a very busy week here in Year 1!
In English we have learnt all about writing instructions We know that instructions are useful because they tell us how to do something, like play a game. We are writing our own instruction booklets to teach someone new how to play our favourite game. Have you got some instructions at home you could read through together? Or could you and your child write some instructions for how to play a game or make a cake?
In Maths we have been learning about one more and one less. Take a look at the learning sheets 1 and 2 we did in class and consolidate it at home.
During our History lesson this week, we found out all about why the fire spread so quickly in 1666. Have a look here to find out more.
In Science we have continued to learn all about materials. We have sorted objects according to the material they are made of. Learn more about materials here.

- Please explore Numbots at home together. This app will help your child consolidate the number work they are doing in school. 10-15 minutes every evening is an ideal amount of time to be aiming for. If you need help logging in, please ask your child’s teacher.
