Ms Kirstin MacVicar – I have been a teacher at the University of Cambridge for many years, beginning my journey in Year 2 before moving to Year 4 and, most recently, joining the Year 6 team. I am now the teacher of Sirius class and have loved guiding the children through their final year of primary school. It is a privilege to watch their confidence flourish as they become increasingly independent learners with a true love of learning.
As well as being a class teacher, I also lead our Languages team at the school. I am the subject lead specifically for Writing and Reading and enjoy creating exciting opportunities to inspire our children. In the past, I have also led Computing, Maths, and Science. Before teaching, I studied Geography at the University of Edinburgh and went on to complete my PGCE at UCL. Alongside teaching, I have completed a Master’s degree in Special and Inclusive Education at UCL. Ensuring that learning is playful and inclusive has been a passion throughout my career.
Outside of school, I love keeping active and have recently taken up triathlons. I also enjoy reading, being creative, and getting out in nature with my dog, Jojo.
